I remember that. As a Ranger fan I was shocked that Palmeiro got a gold glove that year. I agree that he shouldn't have won it.

The Boston Globe is reporting that the deadline is 1 P.M. today, and the team will be notified at 2 P.M. if someone has placed a claim.
Hmm.....That's odd. The articles that I've read, and one of them is posted in this thread, states that the deadline is midnight tonight. Oh well, wait and see I guess.

Bill James has written about this. It was a statistical fluke, a remnant of the voting system. I don't remember the details, but it had something to do with vote-splitting, blah blah blah.
