They already have enough guys with bats and no gloves. You can keep him. I'm sure that he'll be really happy when he comes back next year after the Sox tried to give him away.
Agreed. But Gammons says it was mutual, so I don't think he'd have trouble playing for us again.
And Mad... please tell me who else could possibly take on a one-dimesional player for that much money.

Perhaps, but I wouldn't exactly call it "trying to give him away." Manny did go to the front office after the season and asked to be moved so it's not like this is all one-sided.

I didn't say it would be a smart move for the team, just that it wouldn't surprise me. Don't you think there are owners, Gm's, and coaches just salivating at this opportunity? I know they are, now it's just a matter of committing to the money.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Whatever the reasons are, they are trying to give him away. That is exactly what irrevocable waivers are. They are hoping that someone takes him.
I know that his marriage to the Sox has been anything but smooth but superstars are used to being coddled. Right or wrong, they are.

I don't disagree with you on that but what I am saying is that it's not a scenario where Manny would return and feel "betrayed" because his team tried to give him away, and thus be upset about it.
Manny had a hand in this so if he returns pissed off and upset, he shouldn't be he orchestrated this.

Will we know about Manny in 2 days, 2 weeks or Mar 1?

I know you were kidding and I wasn't bothered. Pick away, especially when I'm stupid.
