Pretty cool Satellite Photos

Just a note... Where there are two pics that look the same (one of South America and one of the U.S.), the first is the normal satellite photo, and the second has been enhanced so the city lights show up better. ;-D

Me too. Google and Wikimapia are two of my favorite sites. ;-D

Don't even get me started on Wikipedia... it's the greatest thing ever. It's especially good for weird pop culture stuff; I can see its irrelevance in the grand scheme of academic research, but when I need to know about the early career of the chick who played Six on "Blossom", guess where I'm going?

Not Wikipedia, Wikimapia.

I apologize in advance for all the time you're going to waste on this site. But it is terrribly cool. ;-D

This is awesome, but Google Earth is WAY better; and since it's a stand-alone program, it doesn't make my 15 other Firefox tabs scream for mercy. :-b

Me and a friend of mine actually searched wikimapia one time as a joke when we needed a map for a project. We were pleasantly surprised to find a real site.

On a seperate note, those pics are great. I love the ones of day becoming night and the sandstorm one.
