i've mainly been playing Platinum when i play, i won a Diamond Football league one year, i think you'll get a "better" level of competition than the Gold, but i still recall people not showing up for their drafts or mailing it in early...i think it just depends on the league
one thing to note, if you win a Diamond or DD league, due to the size of the payout they will send you a tax form and you will have to claim it as "other income" and pay the taxes on it
I was thinking the Platinum looks best. 100.00 > 600.00. I saw last year that the guy who finished second to me was in 9 leagues. Is that the norm. I could not imagine being on top of 9 teams. It would make it "less fun" to me.
What is Juice?

nine leagues? I hope he's a college/HS guy or self-employed, otherwise someone's going to notice his internet use at the office and wonder what's going on.
I think he was an older retired fella. I had my CBS league and a free Yahoo with my bother last year and it was like a job, if you cared about winning. I put 15 or more hours a week into my CBS league with stats, splits, history, marital problems, etc. and won the league.
I feel comfortable with CBS style that is why I am doing them again. Are there any better leagues out there with better winnings and reasearch tools?

the "juice" is the amount they keep for running the league, so in the platinum 10 teams x $100 = $1000 but only pays out $600 and keep $400 for themselves, which sucks...however, i like the Sportsline leagues and havent found a better alternative
I do one H2H and one 5X5.
For me, anyway, it would get just too crazy.
If you were able to somehow draft very similarly in both leagues, however, it might make it a little easier.
It takes me a couple of weeks to remember who is on which team. But I'm getting old, so don't necessarily go by me.
I have stope doing the leagues on CBs because they take so much money, but you are 100% sure you get your prize money so it does remove any risk of losing your money. The competition in the next level is about 7 skilled players, 2 guys that know what there doing, and 1 clueless guy to come in last.
So do they just pay out for winning it? Nothing for 2nd or 3rd?
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
