Stat help

Postby jlm53089 » Thu Feb 01, 2007 6:44 pm

what is the best stat to help stop stockpiling of closers/relievers.
last year we did 6X6 and had K/BB and that didnt fare to well.
the guy who got second didnt have a single starter until someone noticed it in august.
i know CG and Shut Outs but no one in the league wants to use that.
how about K/9?
any ideas?
thanks

k/9 would actually make relievers more valuable (generally speaking).

If you don't want a min innings pitched, you could consider quality starts (QS), innings pitched, or batters faced.

what about a roster limit/set roster parameters heading into the season

as in everyone MUST have a minimum of starters or maximum of relievers

Innings Pitched as a category might be an idea as well (honestly I myself wouldnt be a fan of it but just trying to think of other stuff!)

Go with Quality Starts. If you don't go with that, go with Complete Games. Either stat a starting pitcher is only going to qualify for.
I could be wrong in what I'm saying but I'll be dead before I realize it.
