Hey guys,
I was just wondering last night as I looked through some old cards, if Winfield wouldn't have gotten hurt for that 1989 season, what his final numbers could have been. I realize that sure it was during his final years, but he still put up good numbers after that year and he still had what about 5-6 years left....if that wouldn't have happened, he would have had that year, plus probably better numbers for the following years....just something to throw out there, anybody to comment on this???

Dave Winfield is the best player I've ever seen play the game.
His huge swing, his leaping catches and great arm, his turning singles into doubles just by running on lazy outfielders...
Just fun to watch
And what made him even better?
He ALWAYS had that big smile on his face.
forget the end of his career, his stats would have been a lot better if he was in a park made for right-handers. but instead he was playing in Yankee Stadium, made for lefties.
DAVE WINFIELD: UNDER-APPRECIATED BASEBALL LEGEND.
