Would you trade the #1 pick to get Phil Hughes? In the minor league draft. I also have the #2-3 picks and Cam. Maybin and Alex Gordon. Wood. Butler, Garko , Adam Miller are already taken. I also have Del. Young on my roster who does not qualifie as a minor leaguer. 12 Team AL only

Yes, I'd do that in a heart beat.

Who is available? Although I prefer to draft hitters, the pedigree of Highes, along with that NY lineup bodes well for the young ace. I would say yes....barring anything spectacular

I can't imagine anyone being better than Hughes available at that #1 position. I would take the deal and you should still be able to get some solid guys with the #2-3 picks.

Does the guy want the #1 to draft Matsuzaka?

Matsuzaka will not be avalible in the minor league draft. Anybody on the 25 man roster on draft day has to be bid on. I also have the #8 pick and he has the #22 pick. I was thinking of offering him my #3 and #8 for Hughes and his #22

Who's he wanting that he'd trade Hughes for the #1?

This is a new owner. He took over this team with Hughes picked last year. I'm thinking I can get Hughes by offering my #3 and #8 picks for Hughes and his 22 pick . If I need to improve the offer I can throw in the #8. I may not be able to use it anyway. I have C. Maybin and Gordon already. Plus the 1-2-3 picks and 8. We can only keep a total of 5 minor leaguers and or picks going into the draft.I made a trade to get the #8 pick as a backup in case Gordon starts in the majors I would still have a total of 5 picks. If Gordon starts in the minors I can't use the #8 pick. I would have to know whats going on with Gordon by March 31st. Thats when we freeze our rosters. Would Longoria be my #1 picks with all of these others gone? What about #2? Who would that be?
