I will be drafting a team in a dispersal draft (with 8 other teams). I believe there are 30 teams in the league, and they use Diamond Minds software. Anyway, what kind of a strategy would work best for this game? I have never played in a sim league before.
Generally, I like to draft the best player available in the first two rounds, and then play the scarcity angle (I have only played roto). However, I am wondering how important pitching is in this game, and whether or not I should try and draft strong pitching, and then draft hitters in the later rounds.
No, this isn't Sim dynasty league. I think my title was a little misleading. Basically, you take the stats from the previous year (2003) and then kind of simulate/play a 162 game season. The real important categories are probably BA and WHIP. I don't completely understand how it works, but generally, if you are a .300 hitter, then in a game, there is a 30% chance that you will get a hit. Each hitter and pitcher are only allowed a certain number of games played, based on the previous season. I guess the software is trying to mimic the performance of each player in the prior season, adjusted for different line-ups, ballparks, etc.
I've never tried it. Let us know how it turns out.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
