Red Sox looking at Helton

"The Rockies have confirmed they are talking with the Red Sox about the financial ramifications of a trade of Todd Helton, according to MLB.com. There are various reports of what the Rockies will receive, but the important issues are Helton joining that Red Sox lineup and the Rockies picking up a portion of the $90-plus million Helton is owed over the final six years of his contract."


I don't see how they could get it done financially, but it would make Helton a little more interesting fantasy-wise.

Sure would... I could see a boost w/Helton playing 1/2 his games at Fenway. Still he's not the stud he once was.

Oh it would deffinitely up Helton's fantasy value. You'd likely see a great increase in R and RBI's. You might also see him get back to 25 HR, and his average should stay above .300. That's assuming he comes to Boston, which I really hope he does.

My guess is that they'd put Helton at 1b regularly and use Youkilis for spot-starts at 1b/3b/OF. If Crisp is gonna be injury-ridden I'd rather see Youkilis out in center field than Wily Mo...

Youkilis would probably become trade bait too...
