Changing Commissioners

Postby fantasynut03 » Sat Jan 27, 2007 9:13 pm

I am in a league where the commissioner didn't pay the winners. A number of owners want to keep their teams but with a new commissioner. I have volunteered to be a co- commissioner. The present league is with CBS Sportsline. If I pay the league fee will the "ownership" of the league be transferred to me. Does anyone know tel number to use with CBS so I can set this up? I have never been commissioner but am willing to learn so any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Never played at CBS, so I can't help you here. However, I can bump your thread in case someone else can help you.

Good luck! ;-D

carefull with this. I think the existing comm has to grant access to you.

CBS wants your $.

I would create a new leage if I were you, so the bum doesn't have any kind of access

A semi-current thread on Sportsline's message board seems to confirm that they will change the commissioner to whoever pays the fees. In this case it was a bad thing, because the person who paid the bill wasn't the commish and asked for and received control of the league.

My own thought is that they should duplicate the league, give you control of the new league and let the players decide which one is the real thing. But there may be reasons why their database wouldn't permit this easily. Who knows.

Yes, create a new league and just set the rosters there however they need to be set. The original owner of the league will retain commissioner power, so you'll find yourself in a conflict if you're not careful.
