I played with him in the Cape league during the summer of '04. He was only with us for a little bit before the Indians saw him and signed him rather quickly. He is an extremely elusive 6' tall leftly. Ball just jumps out of his hand and doesn't die at all on its way to the plate. Very deceptive delivery, and this is what gets the hitters. Good velocity, but nothing over the top. Above average slider that he uses very well off of his fastball. Unbelievable competitor to boot!! He has the determination to do well for himself and the stuff to compliment it.

I think he's more of a lefty specialist then a future closer.

Although, when I look him up in Baseball America's handbook it says he looks no longer as just a lefty specialist and Indian personal think hes a closer in the mould of Eddie Guardado.

I got a chance to see him a bit 2 years ago at Kinston a few times. He had good stuff, but he was a bit wild at times. His fastball was above average especially for a lefty, and I would venture to say that if he can get wildness under control, he could be in the majors in another year or so.
