I've been putting together a spreadsheet of 6 mock drafts and thought I'd post a little something on it while I'm still working on it. I plan to eventually have 10 or 12 mock drafts. Mostly just for fun, but also to see before my draft where some players are being drafted. Every draft is different, but if I have the high, low and average draft positions it might make it a bit easier for me during the draft. Afterall, isn't the idea to wait as long as possible to select the best players you want for your team?
Numbers 1, 4, 5, & 6 are considered "expert drafts"
For example, I'm in a H2H league, and to me a certain pitcher has some good value. I can see that he's gone as high as #143 and as low as #253 with an average draft position of #177. For me in a 10 team league, that puts him at the end of the 17th round. If he's there in the 15th or 16th round I might just decide to take him. I can even sort it and see that he's typically the 43rd SP drafted. Nice to know that once the people listed at #30 start being drafted I should see where I'm at and if I want to take him soon before someone else does.
Anyways, so just a taste of what I've been working on, I'll post the top 30 players based on their average draft position (and what there avg draft position is)
Excellent Post! I have been doing the same as well, and using the average draft position at MDC over time to see who's stock is rising and who's is falling. Its too earlty for significant drops, but some notables are chone figgins, juan pierre and corey patterson. Figgins & Pierre have dropped about a half of a round, while patterson has dropped almost two rounds. Did people initially overestimate these speedsters worth or will they rebound?
Not to avoid the speedsters dropping comment...but I do a similar thing but let ESPN do all the work. Having their ADP for their 1000+ drafts is a great tool.
In the past I have aggregated and averged about a dozen or so sites projections...that was also useful.

Numbers 2 & 3 are expert draft[/quote]
By no means did I mean to offend anybody, I just do not know who many people on this forum are. I tend to leave the expert title for those who are paid to play fantasy baseabll.
And if anybody has a mock draft that I can include, please feel free to post a link to it. And yes, Yahoo does the same thing ESPN does. But typically my league starts drafting before many teams start there draft, plus entering it in you tend to "learn" it a bit more, well at least I do.
Good stuff, except for the part where we were passed over with the expert comment.
Might I suggest adding a high/low stat next to each player's ADP? It's nice to know that Hafner has averaged being the 18th pick, but it's even nicer to know that he's averaged the 18th while going 14th and 26th in his two biggest extremes.
Or you could just add the standard deviation. If you're doing any of this in Excel, putting those numbers in is as easy as min/max or stdev...

Thanks for the feedback.
Hey, no worries, I wasn't at all offended!
It was a tongue-in-cheek comment, hence the
I'm seriously looking forward to seeing your full analysis

Since I do a lot of work on my team from work, where I'm getting paid, I like to think I get paid to play fantasy baseball
Number three is definitely the expertest of all mocks
