I agree. Nice game for Beckett and yes, his fantasy value has now gone up.

at the risk of sounding like the afforementioned band wagon beckett fan, i LOVE this kid. I can at least say i had him on my fantasy team for most of the season and i was like "hmm...good guy to have in there usually"...but THIS???? not in a million years did I see this 23 year old kid do as well as hes been doing...i mean he steps up and throws a shutout against the yankees, AT yankee stadium, to win the series...good for him, this whole post season has been a coming out party for Beckett.

And right now, he is a HERO in Red Sox Nation. WOOO!

I am trading him b/c I cannot keep him. Eight spots for:
Helton
Jeter
Ichiro
Bonds
R. Johnson
Schilling
Prior

You see my dilemma, if you can call it that.

Well, i would keep Beckett over Jeter for sure, and Ichiro and Schilling if i had too. Its a keeper league, and your team could fall fast due to age (RJ,Curt, Bonds). Ichiro and Jeter are the 2 most overrated players imo. Becketts got cy talent. The only concern really is blisters. Hes now showed hes got confidence and poise.

Don't forget the HUGE confidence boost. No matter how much confidence Beckett had before, this added to it.

The thing that truly amazes me is:

1.He came back on THREE days rest to pitch a CG SHO.

2.He threw over 100 pitches.

3.He was getting STRONGER as the game went on. he threw 93 in the first, and 97 in the 6th.

Beckett has so much talent i'm lost in it.

As much as I like and respect Beckett, I have to point out that his control was slipping at the end. The 8th is a good example, and in the 9th, the Yanks were swinging at everything. Between 3 days rest and the nerves, Beckett did a fantastic job.

Well, despite my claims, he IS human. His control was on and off near the end, but i think it was fantastic that he got the final out himself.
