I don't disagree, but I think that managers don't like to think about pitch counts when their pitchers are "in a groove". Mark Prior, Pedro, anyone, are different pitchers when their pitch counts are high.
I also think that pitchers on 3 days rest are okay, but for about 20-30 less pitches than usual.
I hope I'm wrong because I want a lot for Beckett.
Zack Greinke...the next Greg Maddux. LOOK IT UP!
For what it's worth.

You sure get worried easily. Hope you get something good for Beckett though. You're giving up a damn good pitcher who can be a team cornerstone for most keeper leagues for years to come.

Well, Beckett has made it through 7. Wonder if they will let him go out for the 8th?
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Wow, 4-6-3 double play to end the 8th for beckett. Not even I expected that. A perfect place to make an exit, right? A good, round hundred pitches or so.

We're off to the 9th! Still 2-0 Marlins. 8 scoreless for Beckett! Not sure I'd send him out for the 9th though.
