I was commish in a couple of Yahoo leagues and played in a few H2H CBS leagues. The Yahoo league is a daily transaction league, while the CBS leagues are weekly. Streaming pitchers is just a problem I live with in CBS leagues, but I have some control over the Yahoo leagues.

So my questions is, what is a good number as a limit on transactions for a season? I'm guessing 40 to 50. Thoughts?

I have seen as little as 20 to the no limit

your 40 to 50 range sounds fine

as long as everyone is made aware of it and you give some kind of reminder if someone is a bit active 1st couple of months you should be fine thats basically 6-8 pickups per month depending on where you settle. This will take care of stewaming and make people think twice about when to add a player.

You may want to consider locking rosters for the playoffs. Someone who saves them for the playoffs could be at an advantage.

I was in a couple that had 100 move limit..that seemed to work fine.

My league has 25 transaction limit for the past 6 years and it has worked fine for us. I wouldn't want to go more than 50. Allowing someone 2 transactions per week for the season (near 50 transactions) in a Yahoo league is fair enough.

In the CBS League I am in we have 17 waiver pickups per season. It is a weekly lineup set league. Once the team is set on Sunday night that's it for the week.

In my Yahoo league we have daily trannies and 50 waiver claims for the season.

We have a CBS league and want to add a transaction limit. I can't find anything in the league setup to do this. Am I missing something or do you have to track the number of transactions yourself?

I had to track them myself last year. Not sure if they're including the option this season.

We use a transaction limit of 48. Also, as someone else suggested, definitely lock the rosters during the playoffs.
