Cano switches from #22 to #24 for Rocket?

Postby Sp_Da_Man » Tue Jan 23, 2007 12:46 pm

Has anyone seen anything about Robinson Cano switching up his jersey # from #22 to #24?

They are speculating that this is to free up #22 for Clemens to join the Yanks.

I'll I've heard is a little blurb about it radio wise.

Despite the fact that Jackie's number has been retired by every team in the league, the number 42 is presently sported by one player in baseball. Coincidentally, he plays for the Yanks, and his name is Mariano Rivera.

What an incredibly boring piece of "news". Talk about a slow news day for this to be getting any print. Who cares if Cano said ok for a if "if it happens."

Well yeah, that's because when MLB implemented the rule in the 90s, it included that any active player with the number would be allowed to finish their career with it.

Mo Vaughn also had it, there are others but off the top of my head I can't remember.

I just got a Cano jersey t-shirt for Christmas too. I guess it's already "vintage."
