LOL ...
Mixed league ... I can't see him in the first round.
NL only ..... probably ... IMO ..
they are in the process of a Mock draft right now and he just went in the late 2nd pick 23.
And he cannot single handily win you saves ... I know from experince. The Gagne owner didn't win saves this year in any of my leagues come to think of it.
What closers are even close to holding Gagne value?
I'll give you Smoltz and Rivera. The are in the vicinity, especially if you include Rivera's post season performances. Then Wagner and Guardado are close.
So there are 5 top closers.
After that you are counting on bounce back guys like Nen and Hoffman. Or you maybe trusting the one year of dominance Foulke. And perhaps there will be some other sleeper picks.
Gagne's middle name should be save. He is really special.

Agreed .... This season was amazing. But I can't see him in the first round..... Late 2nd ... Early 3rd
I say 3rd round at best. Yes, Gagne is the most dominant closer out there. The clear #1 choice at that position.
There's no way he's a 1st round draft choice though. No way at all. I think Gagne is just as good as anyone else does, but I'd love to play a league with someone who takes Gagne in the first round.
Gagne cannot come close to winning the saves catagory in roto ball. We had 4 teams break 100 saves last year in one of my leagues. The guy with Gagne finished 3rd in saves.
Oh, and I've been saying that Gagne should and would get the NL Cy Young since around a month before the season ended. So it's not a matter of resentment. It's a matter of facts.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Indeed. Lets say Arod/Pujols/Vlad/Soriano/Pedro went 1st 5. The guy picking 7th got a bonus. I certaintly would take Helton/Nomar/Zito/Manny/Prior over Gagne, just to name a few. Say thank you to the new Gagne owner. Closers are the most inconsistent position in bb. Bad closers can save 35 games.

Mike Williams a perfect example of that. horrible ERA and WHIP, but saves a ton of games.
