I haven't been combing through my credit cards the past few months because I was busy and they've been charging me $10 each. I just called my CC company and disputed the charges. I am not sure if I want to enter my credit card number into their voice response system though to talk to anyone over there. Anyone ever have issues like this before and how do you handle it?

Have you bought anything from EBGames recently? I signed up for some coupon and apparently it was really signing up for a membership to reservation rewards. I got charged $10 from reservation rewards but I emailed tech support and they gave the money back and canceled the account.
that swcond one looks like something that might show up if you signed up to get a free credit score but didn't cancel you 'membership' to the site before X number of days. just a guess though.
I got charged by a company I have never heard of (Extreme Phone) that resides in a state I have never been to (Idaho). The charge was $237. I contacted Visa and they told me I had two options: I could either file an official claim which would take roughly 2 weeks or I could contact the company directly at the main office (VISA took care of fidning the main office phone number). I contacted the main office and shortly had my money back (although the company seemed extremely amateur-ish.
I learned that the most important thing is not to panic. Assuming you caught it early enough Visa likely has you covered no matter what.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
Thanks for the replies. I buy a lot of crap online but legitimate stuff from Amazon, eBay, iTunes, Baseball Prospectus, etc and know exactly when I use my credit card. Also my wife, she doesn't shop online like I do.
I have bought anything from EB but I did sign up for email notifications. HOw would they have my credit card though? I also never signed up for free credit report.
My credit card is crediting me back for those charges and also will flag the charges. According to the rep, this happens a lot and he knew what those companies were. I am so furious.

Maybe there's another site besides EB that has that site as a sponsor. Either way, I'd just email them and tell them you didn't intend to sign up or whatever and they should clear it up. They were quick to respond to me when I had that problem.

Hmmm...those are a legitimate sites. There's no way they'd forward your information like that. I think you might have filled out one of those trial subscriptions and it's been recurring since. Don't forget you have the opportunity to check your credit report 3 or 4 (i forget exactly) a year for free. So you should look into that every quarter or so.

As a MasterCard employee, I feel obliged to point out that we have "you covered no matter what," too.
At least, I suppose we do. I just track web traffic.
