The Rays released Mori before he ever threw a pitch for the Rays. Apparanetly he is going to be ready to pitch anytime soon.

I actually thought he could have been helpful last year. It is a shame he got hurt before ever getting a chance to be in the bigs.

Devil Rays re-signed RHP Shinji Mori to a minor league contract.

Because he was guaranteed another $900,000 and still has major questions about his shoulder, Mori had little trouble clearing waivers. It's possible he'll be healthy enough to compete for a spot this spring after missing 2006 with a torn labrum. Still, he's a long shot to be much of an asset unless he recovers some velocity.

looks like we are going to give him another shot w/ a minor league deal. I think this is the right way to go. If he is recovered we are OK, and if he is not it doesn't cost us anything
