Something new (for me at least)

Im giving MLBs SimLeague a shot, using a 100 mil cap and no clones. I put this team together. Im very interested in seeing how this works out, though I guess it may take time for the leagues to fill out. Whatcha think of what I drafted/ bought/ picked lol.

C- '99 Lieberthal
1B- '27 Lou Gehrig
2B- '76 Randolf
SS- '60 Banks
3B- '88 Molitor/ '93 Matt Williams
OF- '11 Shoeless Joe
OF- '74 Brock
OF- '55 Mays

Pitching
Rick Aguilera '00
Kevin Brown '92
Jack Coombs '11
Bob Howry '99
Jim Hughes '54
Tom Seaver '69
John Smoltz '02
Bobby Thigpen '90
George Uhle '23
Tim Wakefield '98

Bench
'99 Defecio
'88 Dston
'99 F. Garcia
'81 Ed Miller
'88 Lance Parrish
'96 Shipley
'93 Matt Williams

Since this league you can set up lineups for both lefty and righties I am switching Molitor and Williams back and forth there... the rest of the bench players were cheap scrubs to fill out the roster. Im very much looking forward to seeing how this works out.

Sounds like a stacked lineup to me. ;-D

If injuries/off days are a large factor in the sim, however, that thin bench might turn into a problem. Depends on the parameters used... Still, that's quite a team!

yes fatigue does factor into it which is why I tried going for a lot of games played. I figure on doing 1 day of rest per week (which the league allows me to control) and injuries will also play apart in it. Im still looking into all the options available as per the players, but it may turn out to be a full time job lol... but over all Im happy with it and think I spent the cap rather well (ended up with 1800.00 left)
Just wish I could find BA's for lefties and righties for the older players... MLB says they didnt start keeping those till 1999

Most sims have quirks like that; it can be hard to succeed in your first season, especially when playing against folks who know the ropes.

Still like that roster, though. :-)

By the way, how's Randolph doing for you? He might be a bit of a weak spot in your stacked lineup...
