George Sisler comes to mind. Probably not the best ever, but worth including in this list.

Eddie Murray, he's the Don Sutton of 1st basemen.

no current guys like Bags, Thomas. There careers are long enough already. Were Giambi and Helton excluded due to partial careers?

Anyway, whoever you would add isn't going to be #1, as it's pretty well between only a couple of guys.

Thomas/Bagwell are easily two of the top 5 greatest 1B of all time.

Not sure if I agree. Murray was the dominant 1B of his era. He played in an era where 34 HR would lead the league. I agree his "peak value" is nowhere near the other great 1B but his "career value" is very high. He did finish in t he top 10 in the MVP voting 8 times. That's pretty impressive. Don Sutton never did that well in CY Young voting.

I'm not going to include any current players on these polls. Once a player has retired we can look at his career as a whole. And not the Ryan Sandberg/Micheal Jordan kind of retired. :-D

Harmon really didn't have a postion. He played multiple postions:

1B-969 games
3B-791 games
OF-470 games
DH-158 games
2B- 58 games
