Scratch or Keeper League

What do you all prefer?
Every year we do a scratch draft, it makes the draft that more entertaining, and you love seeing the big names go off the board.
Many say a keeper league takes more talent and more knowledge.
But what does everyone at the cafe prefer?

I like a compromise. To instill interest in the league and keep owners active, you need to be a keeper. However I feel too many keepers cause problems too. I don't like more than about 5 keepers. That keeps it more interesting!

I agree, keepers can bring up too many problems. The only way, I feel, that a keeper is worth while is if you know your other league mates and they are all in it for the duration and they are all knowledgable owners. Really, alot of IFs. I prefer redraft leagues because of all these IFs. That, and I haven't been able to get 12+ owners that I know are knowledgable and competitive.

I would also would prefer that 5 be the MAX amount of keepers because I think draft day is probably the best part of fantasy and if you keep any more than that then the draft is only half of what it could be, IMO.


Anyway, give me a redraft league 98% of the time. My favorites are 14-16 team mixed or 10-12 team "only" leagues.

I prefer a scratch league.
I can see the challenge in a keeper, but my son and I do 2 teams each year ( one H2H and one 5X5) and it makes it a little more interactive for the two of us to go through scratch draft(s) each year. It gives us a little more to talk about as the season approaches.
