Game 5

Sox 6-2

A close game through 7, as the Sox take a 3-2 lead. In the top of the eighth, the Sox get one with Ramirez driving in Garciaparra. Dusty brings in the immortal Mark Guthrie to face the lefties. He gets Ortiz, but isn't so lucky with Nixon.

Sox lead 3-2 going back to Fenway.

Some of the games which don't make the plausibility cut are crazy. Having middle relievers go 5 innings and 100 pitches.

The actual World Series seems pretty exciting. I've watched less than 10 seconds of it, though.

True. I can't get past the participants being the 1st and 4th most despicable franchises in MLB.

Since #2 in my book is Atlanta and #3 is the Mets, I've taken a pass on a lot of recent World Series.

That list is actually quite close to mine. The Yankees, though, fill 1-100. Then it's the Mets, Marlins and Braves, I think. I still can't get over what the Marlins did in 97 (firesale). However, I'll be very happy if they win it all. Ah, allegiances.

Anyway, what are the pitching matchups for Games 6 and 7? And change in rotation for either teams? You never know, Grady might want to start Nomar pitching in game six on a "hunch."

Game 6. Wakefield vs. Prior at Boston
Game 7. Martinez vs. Wood at Boston

Prior and, if necessary, Wood go on three days rest. Despite Zambrano shutting out the Sox in game 2.

Must remember to start Mirabelli in Game 6.

When game 6 gets run, make sure to start Mirabelli over Varitek. Mirabelli catches Wakefield. ;-)
