Gimme Erbe. I like the 19 year old with great stuff, good frame, and average control better than I like the Coors-bound lefty with great stuff and awful control.

Although I agree Erbe is the safer pick, I would say the much more intriguing player is Morales who has ace potential. Aside from his very fixable control issues I would say this guy is the ideal pitcher. I think there's a good chance that, if he manages to figure out his problems with control, he will quickly move up the rankings next year.

Erbe has #1 potential as well. I personally like Franklin Morales more however, but both are quality players.

I agree. Though I expect Morales to improve, I don't like him throwing in Colorado. Erbe in the AL East isn't terribly exciting either, but I think he's the better pitcher overall.

I'd go with Erbe, but it's close.

I think Morales is one of the more underrated legit rotation ace prospects in the minors. While he is definitely a tier below Hughes/Bailey, Morales could enter 2008 as a top 25 prospect. Two years younger, Erbe comes with a lot more risk.
