Surprised that Dukes is not on the list, and that Upton is not at least second behind Rocco in CF. Also, I have heard Shields will be 2 as to go L,R,L. I did not see Seo anywhere so not sure what is up with that. I would imagine Hammel and Howell may start in the Pen and Stokes will be in Durham. Also surprised that Wiggy isn't starting at 1st and Norton DH with Gomes being the Util backup.

Howell willl be a very good addition to the pen ((if he goes)) because he was never a pitcher who could go many innings anyhow and he could make a good long reliever.
I wonder where Seo is, but I never heard of him getting bought out or getting sent to AAA Durham, but who knows.
I wish we could start wiggnton because he is a good power hitter despite his fielding, but he is old so I understand. I think he might make decent trade bait or a good backup whenever we need him.

Seo is on the Active Roster, it must have been an oversight. He will be one of the 5 starters. I think the rotation at the start will be
Kaz
Shields
Fossum
Seo
Howell/Corcoran/Hammel ---- Whoever looks best in ST
It will be a deep rotation now we just need to get more talent from our up-and-comers and it really could develop into a good rotation.
I posted this in another thread don't know if you saw it, but Friedman said that our young arms need 200 IP combined between AA and AAA before they come up so Guys like Niemann, Talbot, Sorenstine will be up later this year probably.

by the time they can come up though our season will be done but it will be good to see our prospects in action I guess
I like Sorenstine personally but most of my friends dont
Same with Mark Hendrickson
Well Niemann and Talbot and Sorenstine have a lot of innings in AA and AAA already so it won't be that long, especially if our starters are getting shelled.

Niemann easily. He can easily come in and become a nice #2 SP. If we can get Price signed this summer to go along with Kazmir and Niemann, we would have the makings of a great rotation for many years. With 2 #1s in Kazmir and Price and a solid #2 in Niemann, we could actually live with 2 #5s at the back end of the rotation. Maybe some of our young arms will be easily movable to the bullpen to shore it up.
