Auction League Contract Increase Each Year

In an auction keeper league what is a good % to bump up a players contract if kept?

And how do people in Auction leagues handle adds/drops during the season.

one way is to set an amount that u add to every player each year u keep them...for example...in one of my keepers...we charge $5 to whatever his value was last year...this works good cuz guys like pujols, arod, and the surefire studs are always thrown back in the pool every year since they can be had at the same price or close to it...and yet it rewards players that u find real cheap...like the ryan howards, chase utleys, miguel cabreras and so on until they meet market value a couple years later...ww guys just go straight to $5 value...so to keep them the next year it would be $10...

another league im in sets a specific amount for each player during the preseason as to what their keeper value will be for the following year...and anyone else who is not on this list becomes a universal value like $5 or $1...

personally...i luv the 1st method...im not too fond of the 2nd method cuz after one solid year...they no longer become bargains for some cheap finds...

We do a straight $4 increase in salary from the previous season. We talked about doing an "increasing increase" where the rate of increase rose the longer you kept a player.

Players keep their auction salary and any yearly increases when they are traded (or dropped).

For free agents we're trying something a little different. We only get 6 FA pickups for the season, and the earlier you use them the "cheaper" the free agent is:

April-May: $1
June: $2
July: $3
August: $4

No idea how that will play out yet, but the thought is that you're taking more of a risk on a guy at the start of the season, so if you keep him it costs you less. We know that this has problems with late season call ups.
