1997 Marlins vs. 2003 Marlins

Both got the wild card and bot beat the Giants in round 1... However the 2003 team will be back for 04 and that 97 team was split up and now every team out there has a player from that team... Over all i think that the 97 team was better, you about you guys?

Good question, and a tough call. I think this year's version might actually be better when they're on top of their game, but they don't always have the consistency.

Darn that's tough...

As of right now, pre World Series Game 1, I'd say the 1997 team is better. They won the WS and the 2003 team hasn't yet won anything. Remember the 1997 team had these guys...

Gary Sheffield
Moises Alou
Kevin Brown
Rob Nen
Al Lieter
Darren Daulton
Edgar Rentaria
Livian Hernandez
Bobby Bonilla

That's a pretty good ballclub.

I voted for 97. I think they had the better staff.

I voted 2003 on principle. They've developed this team and they have potential to be around for a while.

Pudge, Castillo and Urbina are all going to be pricey.

I agree. It will be tough to keep them all.
