I currently am trying to decide between Kershaw and Lincecum.

Who would you rather have long term?

Linecum. Kershaw is too far away. Too much can happen between now and when he would start to be a contributor for your team.

Talent wise, Kershaw is pretty exciting. Power lefties are hard to find. I still take Linecum though.

Agree. If it's between those 2, Lincecum is the choice. He'll be in the bigs maybe by summer, altho it is a question whether he'll remain a starter. Even, if he stays healthy (which is always a concern w an 18 y/o pitcher) and develops nicely, Kershaw probably wont hit the bigs until 2009 at the earliest. And the Dodgers havent exactly had the best luck w their elite pitching prospects lately (see G. Miller and E. Jackson). Hopefully Billingsley and Elbert will reverse that trend.

Agreed, Lincecum hands down.

Its hard to find flaws in Kershaw at this point, but who knows what will happen from here on out. Lincecum on the other hand has shown he can dominate consistently at a level higher than HS ball.

I'm just a little worried that Lincecum will get moved to the bullpen.He will definitely contribute before Kershaw though.

That's always a risk with a small pitcher. There is a great discussion of Linecum in this thread, which you should read if you are going to drat him.
