What are the odds that Wood will be the closer? I think he could offer some great fantasy value if he could lock down that position (different situation, but remember Papelbon last year). Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I'd say he has a very good shot. Considering Dempster's uncanny ability to make any situation nerve racking and blow games with ease, the job could be woody's within a matter of weeks depending on how he is progressing. Sweet Lou is a no BS kind of guy and he wont allow a guy like dumpster to blow leads and get away with it. Woody will most likely be next in line for the closer role in Chicago, so its a matter of when, not if IMO.

I thought that if Dempster blew up again that Howry will be tried as the closer.

I'd bet that Wood would be tried as closer before Howry. Also, Is there any chance that Prior will be pitching much this year, isn't he coming off of more shoulder problems or something? If that is the case, then scrap Prior as #3 pitcher and then put Miller in the rotation

He is coming off shoulder problems. The last I heard he was throwing off the mound in January, well ahead of schedule.

I want to see him pitch in ST games. Something he hasn't done in 2 years....only 4 days away... ;-D
