Travis Snider V. Colby Rasmus

Rasmus will be a top 15 prospect when '08 lists come out.

He will end up the year in AA, and he will put up a season line something like:

.300/.370/.525 along with 20-25 homers and 30+ steals.

He's Grady Sizemore with more power.
He's Chris Young with better contact

Mostly agree with this. I don't think he'll be quite as good as Sizemore in the long run (I don't agree about the power comment), but a very similar type of player and a great fantasy player. Snider offers very good power potential, but Rasmus all around game is too good to pass up, he is under-rated on just about every list I've seen so far...

Well, I am on the clock for the first pick in the fourth round of our prospect draft.

Anyone have anything to add about these guys?

I am leaning towards Rasmus but I am definitely undecided.

Rasmus figures to be better for fantasy... i mean the guy has pop, speed and contact. that combo translates better to fantasy imo.

however i do think Snider is a very special power hitter in the making. a Billy Butler clone.

tough call but i might sway torward Snider on this for the sheer fact of just liking him personaly more but both are extremely equal at this point.

I like Rasmus here. He'll take over for Edmonds and be plugged into a lineup where he is going to be knocked in or knocking in pujols. Dude doesnt get 120 rbis and runs for nothing.

I have both....Its hard to decipher who will have the better career. Both are tremendous talents.I would probably lean toward Snider if I had to chose.Snider was more polished coming out of high school.

Snider has a much higher ceiling, IMO. Especially, power and average. Think Lance Berkman.

I don't like Rasmus as much, I feel he'll be closer to Mark Kostsay, than to Grady Sizemore.
