Autograph Fading

I have a signed ball (ball point pen) by Sheff when he was with the Marlins, and it has faded really bad. I have put it in a case now, will that stop it? Should i use something other than a pen to get sigs on a ball?

It may have been. I got it signed and then left it at home when i went to school, i got it back when i went into law school and thats how it was

I'm going to disagree, all my sharpie autohraphs have fadded from the 2000 season. I use a strong blue ball point pen for my autographs. Also, keep all your autographs in the dark untill you have proper the displays.

All mine are signed with ball point pen and i have cases for them now, should that stop it from fading?

keep it out of the sun...and the best case is one that is pvc protected
