Actually I think it's the biggest security hole since Microsoft decided that it's a cool idea to open all Outlook attachments automatically. I recommend that everyone take a look at this very closely - usually I'm very relaxed about reports of new bugs, trojans or viruses, but this time it seems to be different.
PS. If you do decide to edit your registry please be VERY careful and always do a backup in advance!

Seems like I overestimated this - sorry guys, thought it would never happen to me. Just take it as a reminder to update your system regularly, and be sure to deactivate ActiveX in your browser settings.
Strangely I'm still seeing those characteristic popups when I surf the net, but it seems like they're not related to the security flaw mentioned.

I'd rather be over cautious, than have my computer shut down on me. Thanks for the update Menyak!

Good information to know. Thanks.

Also not using Outlook (Express) helps a lot, I like Eudora but I've given menyak headaches with it
Recently I heard about a neat tool that lets you run only specific ActiveX controls, that could be the solution but I have to find it again and check it out first...
