Diamondbacks: Gonzalez has elbow injury

by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com
Thursday, October 9, 2003

News
The Arizona Republic reports that Diamondbacks’ outfielder Luis Gonzalez has a Grade 2 tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. The extent of the injury was discovered following an MRI on Tuesday. Gonzalez will attempt to strengthen the area around the ligament this offseason and won’t do any throwing until January. Surgery is still a possibility if the ligament does not heal, but it is a last resort.

Views
We’ll be checking in on Gonzalez throughout the offseason, as he is obviously the biggest bat in the D-backs’ lineup. Fantasy players will want to make a “note to self” to downgrade him in their rankings next spring because of the looming possibility of surgery.

Definitely something to keep an eye on.
Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

I had actually already dropped him a few rounds in the draft because he's a one-year wonder. I'm not sure how many more rounds I can drop him before I run out of rounds.

I'd still grab him as a 3rd outfielder.
