My Keeper League Team, Needs 1 Cut...how would you rate it?

Postby fantasyguy26 » Tue Dec 26, 2006 2:23 pm

I need to cut my roster down by 1....somewhere. I have 1 too many in the minors, but I could cut a Major Leaguer and demote someone. Could you give a little more info on the league. But at first glance your team seems pretty weak and full of minors (not sure how some of them are in your minors).

Need a little more info on the league to give a good opionon.

League info

Postby fantasyguy26 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 1:41 pm

it's a 16 team league. My roster is cut down to 16, with the re-draft to go up to 25. Explaining how the minors work would take too long, but we use Options...if a player has options left and has yet to reach specific statistical #'s they are still elligible for the minors. My team was an expansion team 4 years ago, I started with only minor league players, expansion teams were allotted 40 minor league guys. the next year I was able to draft my team of left-overs. I just completed my best season yet, barely missing the playoffs. I had to cut my minors down to 25 this year. This is copied from our rules directly.

The league uses a "Head-to-Head" scoring format, utilizing both AL and NL players. A schedule is posted at the beginning of each season, with teams playing those in their division twice each,
and those in the other division once, for a 22-game regular season during normal, full seaons. In each matchup, teams will receive one point for each category won. There are 6 offensive and 6 pitching
categories: Offense - Batting Avg, Onbase Pctg, Homeruns, RBI, Runs, Steals…Pitching - ERA, Innings, Wins, Saves, Strikeouts, Whip.

as to my team being weak, I have for the most part, the dominant pitching team in the league....mostly because I have guys who eat innings, get K's and have good whip / era. I cut some of my older pitchers from last year, I'm hoping to have big years from my young pitchers, and I made some would be considered foolish deals to try to make the playoffs last year. What can I say, I'm tired of losing. My offense is definately weak...I do have several good young players coming through the minors, but you never know who turns out.

Thanks for any help you guys can throw me

you desperately need a young long term ace. I'd go with a mediocre offense if you can acquire a #1 stud pitcher. prospects look great.
