bwhahwhahwhhwhahwahhawhahh...Well Tool has a better drummer, guitarist, bass player, and singer.
DMB is horrible....They cater to 12 year old girls with whiney lame music that sucks
Tim Reynolds is talented but still he's not the god that Dave Matthews fans think he is.
Is this a Tool thread or a Temple of the Dog thread?
I would take Carter Beauford over Danny Carey any day of the week, btw.
Really? I'd take Danny Carey over most rock drummers in the world.

yea agreed not that Beauford isn't great but he's more of a jazz drummer anyways.

Beauford is not more of a jazz drummer. DMB doesn't play jazz music. Carter is one of the most uniquely talented players on the planet. His hi-hat work has become legendary.
That's taking nothing away from Carey, because he's filthy at what he does as well. I'm generally not a fan of comparing drummers, or saying that drummer A is better than drummer B.
However, Carter is sick in all areas of music. Carey is a beast at what he does, but I'm not familiar with him outside of that heavy rock scene.
BTW...I'm used to the DMB hate around here, but for anyone to say that they aren't an extremely talented band, like them or not, is just plain ignorant.
I have a friend who is a kind of a drumming fanatic (he subscribes to Modern Drummer or some equally obscure publication) and he has touted Beauford as a great modern drummer. I'll take his word for it.

My sentiments exactly, and while Beauford is extremely talented on the drums, you have to give your respects to the whole band on their own instruments as well, as each member is very talented at what they do

He's not more of a jazz drummer then DC?
Anyways isn't open hand drumming a jazz style...maybee not..anyways I'm not saying beauford isn't great. But I think Carey is better. Carey is an extremely good tabla player as well..
Of course comparing Beauford to Carey is comparing apples to oranges they are both different entireley
