RJ on the move?

Thoughts on moving Johnson? Do they try to get younger pitchers? They surely don't need another bat. Nor does Arizona have much (at least that they would give up) that I think would help the Yankees. But I don't see Johnson giving up his no-trade for anywhere else. He's a Yank in '07.

I'd be fine with moving Johnson so long as we didn't get hosed. And that's fair value for 43-year-old Unit, not 34-year-old Unit...so, I don't expect a huge return on this one. Good young prospects, or a decent bullpen arm, or the 1B/backup catcher solutions they've been seeking, or a combination of the above.

Not sure what to expect of him in 2007, if he stays on the Yankees. His decline seems very real if sharp...however, he obviously does still have the stuff to be better than league average in the AL, if he is healthy and can find a semblance of consistency, which might be too much to ask for...too many question marks for an old guy who has been a disappointment. I'm ready for him to leave. He's a jerk anyway. :-D

I have no idea what his NY state of mind is, and whether or not he wants to go elsewhere.

I would love to see him go, I think his decline has started and will just get more severe. He is owed $16 million next year, had back surgery in the offseason, 43 years old, and had an ERA over 5.00 (i think it was over 5.00).

I think if they can find some sucker to take all of his salary it would be a great deal for the Yankees. I really don't see any downside to trading him.

Rotoworld said that a deal with Arizona could be done by next week....although take that with a grain of salt.

Linebrink or any solid pitching prospects would be a good deal.

I just know he'll magically pitch amazing again once he leaves though. :-[
