I'd be fine with moving Johnson so long as we didn't get hosed. And that's fair value for 43-year-old Unit, not 34-year-old Unit...so, I don't expect a huge return on this one. Good young prospects, or a decent bullpen arm, or the 1B/backup catcher solutions they've been seeking, or a combination of the above.
Not sure what to expect of him in 2007, if he stays on the Yankees. His decline seems very real if sharp...however, he obviously does still have the stuff to be better than league average in the AL, if he is healthy and can find a semblance of consistency, which might be too much to ask for...too many question marks for an old guy who has been a disappointment. I'm ready for him to leave. He's a jerk anyway.
I have no idea what his NY state of mind is, and whether or not he wants to go elsewhere.
