Well, apart from those shocked BNL made it at all, mostly it's just a comment on how easy the decision is. When it's easy, we say so, when it's hard, we say so. It's not shock. Apart from the few diehard metalheads annoyed that Deicide didn't get in, or whatever.
Yeah, me being a big U2 fan, I sort of gave them a favorable bracket... but it's no cakewalk after the first round with AEnima and the Bends in this bracket. I'm definitely rooting for U2 here in this bracket.
However, for some reason I don't like their 90s stuff and definitely wouldn't vote for them in the 2nd round against Superunknown if they even make it that far.

Deicide is awesome, but they just don't stand out to me as a great metal band because the harder the metal is, the more it sounds indistinguishable. That's why as I said in another thread that a battle of metal bands doesn't make a great deal of sense. But c'mon, even Iron Maiden deserves a spot and truly deserves it over pop fodder like Barenaked Ladies. I think Blizzard of Ozz came out in 1980 while The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, and Powerslave came out in 1982, 1983, and 1984 respectively, I believe.

PWF thought that their first album came out in '79, hence the band was ineligible. By the time we'd proved otherwise, the bracket wasn't changing.
