The same question was posed on a baseball prospectus chat the other day and it was said 10/300 wouldn't be surprising...

Truthfully, I wouldn't be shocked. Though, I'd expect him to get a 7 - 8 year deal tops, topping out around 27 - 28 million, but heck, if we're talking about that being a possibility, 30 x 10 isn't out of the realm of possibilities either, in this fictional world we're talking about where he's a FA.

Surprisingly no; but I just found it interesting that the original posted questioned that if, in some false reality, Pujols were a Free Agent this year, what would he make; only to get answers saying Pujols will never be a free agent, is the new Roberto Clemente, etc.

I'd say 20m/year for sure, can't see anyone giving a pitcher $25m, but he might make a couple over 20.

I think the idea of the 'If Pujols were an FA' thing is less to do with Pujols, and more to do with the maximum amount of money the market will bear for anyone, however good.
