If Meche got 5/55, I wonder what Walter Johnson would get. ;-)

Truthfully, I wouldn't be shocked. Though, I'd expect him to get a 7 - 8 year deal tops, topping out around 27 - 28 million, but heck, if we're talking about that being a possibility, 30 x 10 isn't out of the realm of possibilities either, in this fictional world we're talking about where he's a FA. :-]

Surprisingly no; but I just found it interesting that the original posted questioned that if, in some false reality, Pujols were a Free Agent this year, what would he make; only to get answers saying Pujols will never be a free agent, is the new Roberto Clemente, etc. :-b

It's okay. I spend some time on car forums. I'm used to asking what sort of oil people are using and finding out about the chicks they get because of their rims. :-b

I don't know...10/300 seems a tad hefty. But I suppose anything for King Albert would be reasonable... :-b

I think George would just deed him the Yankees to play for them. So, I guess he'd be signed for life at about $1 Billion or so total. :-B

28-30 million in this market. What did Vernon Wells get? 18 million?

Now another interesting question would be what would Johan Santana get? If Meche got 11 million....Suppan probably 10 million....Zito probably 17 million....

I'd say 20m/year for sure, can't see anyone giving a pitcher $25m, but he might make a couple over 20.

I think the idea of the 'If Pujols were an FA' thing is less to do with Pujols, and more to do with the maximum amount of money the market will bear for anyone, however good.
