Does anyone play this game? A friend of mine got it and has been playing it. It looks pretty cool. I've never played any type of MMORPG (I just found out what that means the other day, heh) or anything even remotely like it, nor am I a huge fan of using the keyboard/mouse to play games, but I could probably adjust if the game is fun enough... anyone recommend it??

My bro plays it alot and he is as far from a computer guy as you can go.

Man, I'm not big into (and never have been) big into the role playing fantasy type games. But seriously, do yourself a favour and pick up Oblivion. Game of the year I might add, and addictive as hell. I have spent so much of my life playing it.

i don't know how susceptible to addictions you are but i hear online RPGs are like crack and take huge commitment in terms of hours put in. i myself have never played those massive online RPGs let alone any RPG game but the stuff i hear about it how its more addicting than crack and takes over your life, i dont even want to go near it.

I played Guild Wars for about 6 months. It's more of a mmorpg lite game unless you pvp (that's player vs player). Max level is 20 which can be reached in a couple weeks unlike some other games where it may take you months (or even years) to reach max level. Heck, if you want, they will start you at level 20 but you will have a limited choice of skills.

The pvp is quite good if you are interested in a challenge. Pvp matches are team based so find a group of friends either in real life or online.

What is great about Guild Wars is that it rewards skill and knowledge over time spent playing. So you don't have to worry about that level 99 Wizard pwning your level 6 sorry butt since everyone is the same level.

No doubt. I just started playing two days ago, and it's already consumed my every waking thought. :-o
