Helton for A-Rod

Postby benny_d » Mon Dec 18, 2006 10:36 pm

Would the rockies ever consider trading todd helton for alex rodriguez??? It would be beneficial to both teams I think. The yankees would get a 1st baseman they desperately need so Giambi could be DH and we would get the ranchise player we could use... Their salaries wouldn't be too different from eachother and A-rod could play shortstop. I thought jeff baker and brad hawpe were 1st basemen in the minors so one of them could replace helton at first.

A lineup like this looks pretty good to me:
Tavares CF
Matsui 2B
Atkins 3B
Holliday LF
A-Rod SS
Baker 1B/RF
Hawpe 1B/RF
Torrealba C

If we can sort our pitching out that is lineup that can contend straight away.

I guess it's something to daydream about if you're a Rockies fan.

He's not 100 times better than Helton, but he is better.

I don't ever see this happening btw, but Arod would rake big time at Coors!

I hate A-rod...let him suck it up for his beloved Yankees, I'd much rather have Helton, even if he's not the player he used to be. As for 1B, if Helton ever left, we have Joe Koshansky waiting in the ranks. He's almost major league ready now.
