Seems like the same old story. Word is he might not be ready for the start of '07. If healthy, he will be sub 4 ERA with good K/BB numbers. But of course, he is likely to have several stints on the DL.

Kudos to GiantsFan14 for the sig.

Stay away..far far away!!! The Cubs aren't even counting on him for much this year from what I hear on the radio.

It is sad. We have been burnt by this guy fantasy-wise so bad that it is difficult to remember the pitcher that he was. He was one of the best college pitchers in the history of the game. His mechanics were beautiful; I heard analysts call them "perfect"

I just remember how well he used to work the count (and get people to strike out). He looked very polished as a very young man. It would have been nice to see how good he could have been.

Ugh, I hate hearing his name. Only reminds me of all the suffering that he puts on fantasy owners :-b . All kidding aside, I'd stay very far away from this guy, WAY to injury prone if you haven't figured that out already.. :-o

Prior has been diagnosed with a "loose shoulder", which is said to be a genetic thing and fixable. He has been working out on a program that specifically targets his shoulder to try and correct the problem.

This is a quote from the cubs site.
I've heard a lot of speculation about the starting rotation for next season and was wondering what Mark Prior's status is? Will he be healthy and ready to start the 2007 season?
-- Brian K., Iowa City, Iowa

That's the plan. Prior is working with a specialist in San Diego six days a week, strengthening his right shoulder. But it's December, and the Cubs won't know for sure how Prior is until he gets on the mound in Mesa, Ariz., in February.

I've been burned by him before. I would take him maybe as a last-round pick and stash him on the bench. That's about the ceiling for his current value as far as I'm concerned.

I heard that we shouldn't expect more than 8-10 Wins, with a 3.50 ERA and a 1.30ish WHIP. The presumption was that he last 3/4 of the season.
