My favorite is how they tax you on everything, and then when you go give it to your kids or whover once you die, they tax it again. Sweet. :-t

It was bought off the lot 8 months ago.

I bought it from that guy a month or so ago.

How does the government get away with charging him sales tax on his original purchase and THEN!!

Charging me sales Tax on my USED purchase.

Its totally messed up. How is that fair at all!!

the care already had sales tax paid on it!! WTH!! Evil government!

If you keep the Jeep til next year, you will have to pay taxes on it again as well.

I understand OWNERSHIP tax but this is Sales Tax!! It doesn't happen every year. Sales tax only happens during a sale.

But you'd think that the government has no case for sales tax after the item has SOLD 1 time!

I just got a car from my grandfather and they said at Drivers Ed if you put "To my grandson" or whatever on the title they don't charge sales tax. :-D

Sucks to be you ACS. Here in Nevada, it just got changed at the beginning of this year that you no longer pay sales tax on a car purchased from a private party. So, I got my 2005 Toyota tax free. ;-D

But they do still charge on dealership sales even if it's used. My Dad got screwed a couple years ago on that. He went to Idaho and bought a Suburban and brought it back to Nevada. Then they told him that he not only had to pay his registration taxes, but he also owed a sales tax on it as well. I could never figure out how that worked. I mean if the sale takes place, doesn't the state where the sale took place have the claim to tax that sale? Not the state where the car is eventually registered? :-?
