Anybody know how many times per season the average, full-time major league position player strikes out, or what site might have this info?

Looks like the avg MLB hitter strikes out in 19-20% of his ABs. In 550 ABs, that would be 105-110 Ks.

Nope, but it might closer to 1 in 5 PA if you include pitchers.

Exactly. I think.... When I said over 1 per 6 PA I misspoke though. It should have be just under 1 per 6 PA (1 per 6.03 roughly).

The AL average for SO/PA in 06 was .1623. The NL was .1736. The BB/PA was .0827 and .0857 for the AL and NL respectively.

Just for some quick averages at 4 PA per game over 162 games that would make the average AL hitter:
648 PA 54 BB 594 ABs 105 Ks
