The Shaara series is awesome if you are interested in military history and the american wars. He has 3 books about the civil war, 3 about the revolutionary war, 1 about WWI and just came out with one about WWII

;-D

He's also probably the most famous alum of my Alma Mater. Well, him and John Wesley.

"The Great Raid" was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The book it is based on, is one of the best I have ever read. Go figure.

Look for "Jayber Crow" by Wendell Berry. I'e read it and its pretty cool. A family friend thats an English teacher said he suggested the book to a woman who was starting to go blind, and it was the last book she ever read. She said it was definately not dissappointing to be the last book she read.

I am not a huge science fiction fan, but Dune was one of the best books I have ever read. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Just finished the 5th book a little bit ago. Taking some time off before I tackle the Chapterhouse....

I was just giving you a hard time. Dune's complicated! There's a lot of conspiracy, back-stabbing, and political trickery. That's part of what makes it so great- you actually have to think while you read it.

Good for you. The 6th book is thrilling! I didn't see the ending coming, that's for sure. ;-D

You look like a Dark Tower fan too, Callahan... seems like you have good taste in books.
