That's so untrue it's laughable. :-D Time to break out the t-shirt.

I love Pearl Jam as much as the next guy (their concert in the 90s were insane) but there is freaking way that they are better than Nirvana.

Bah. If Eddie Vedder had killed himself back then and Nirvana was still going today, everyone would be clamoring about how great Pearl Jam was and Ten would be one of the greatest albums of all time.

People often forget that when In Utero came out, Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins were both much bigger than them at that point.

I'm not trying to diss on Nirvana, but they tend to get blown up a little more than they should.

Amen, my friend.

Both were angst riddled figure heads of the grunge movement. Then Cobain offed himself and became some god like figure. Vedder still has quite a following, Pearl Jam has quite a following, and are still going strong after all these years. Had Vedder been the fool who killed himself, he'd be this 'rock savior' instead of Cobain. Kind of sad if you think about it.

And yes,

PJ>Nirvana ;-D

He is talented but I mean I can play drums bass and guitar too.

I can play guitar better then him IMO but he plays drums way better...

Reznor is way more talented when it comes to creation of music I think but Pearl Jam to me is a more talented over all band.

I liked Nirvana's music alright, but I will always despise Cobain, and as such, I find myself liking Nirvana alot less now than I used to.

I've got no respect for someone that takes the coward's way out, and in the process leaves their child in the "care" of a psychotic wench.

Reznor is pretty much the entire band isn't he? I mean in the studio he's the only one that plays anything? Artists like that are usually immensely talented and brilliant. Like Prince for example. The dude has taught himself how to play like 20+ instruments and he basically plays every instrument on his latest albums.

Pokerplaya and ACS are the only guy here making sense. The only reason that Nirvana is looked on as highly as they are is Kurt Cobain killed himself. Now I'm not trying to be insensitive, but people tend to remember people/bands a lot better when something tragic happens to the them. When it comes to actual talent I'd take AiC, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam over them every day of the week. It seems everything about them is slightly over rated (I do like some Nirvana stuff btw). I've heard how great Kurt's lyrics are and I don't see it. Eddie Vedder/Chris Cornell/Layne Staley/Jerry Cantrell could write around him all day long. When it comes to guitar, the fact some people will claim that Kurt Cobain is actually a great guitarist makes me die on the inside. The only thing they did better then any of those other bands was release a really catchty song at the right time.

I also think Metallica has enough with 2 albums. I'm a huge Metallica fan and they are probably my 2nd favorite band next to PJ, but they really don't need 3 on this list.

Sorry but... Nirvana popularized grunge. Pearl Jam = wannabe Nirvana. They are pretty close though but I prefer Nirvana.
