Wait...what was he quoted? Which is the correct rate? Someone on the comments wrote .002 dollars = .00002 cents. That is incorrect.

1 dollar = 100 cents
1 (100) = 100
.002 dollars (100) = .2 cents

So is the correct rate .2 cents or .002 cents?

It sounds like the correct rate is .002 dollars, and that's what they charged him, but these customer service reps keep saying it's .002 cents, and that's what he thought he was going to pay.

.002 dollars = $0.002
.002 cents = $0.00002

I listened to this last night and it STILL irritates me. :-b

I have Verizon, but I'm starting to question if they really are the best carrier.

Cingular has rollover minutes, and T-Mobile has that "call any 5 people free" deal. Verizon has the "give us your money deal."

Their commercials don't even advertise anything other than "you can play Nelly Furtardo on our phones, lucky you."

It' such a scam too, i got one of those music phones that takes MicroSD cards and the sales person told me I need to buy a $30 music kit and an $80 microSD card from the store. Instead, I skipped the music kit, got a microSD card online for $25 and just put music on it with a card reader from my computer.

Plus I think they charge $1.99 per song.

My personal favorite still is the guy who tried to cancel his AOL service, and basically kept repeating "I want to cancel" over and over again while the weasel at AOL kept badgering him to reconsider.

On the bright side, the AOL guy has probably long since been laid off, like most of AOL's workforce.

Ahh phone companies they are morons.

I'm confused though. Both of the people seemed dumb with their math although obviously Verizon was way worse.

Now I didn't sit down and write down every math problem that came up but I think some were totally wrong

.002 cents = 2/1000 of a penny correct?2/100,000th of a dollar correct since they are 100 fold different?

.002 Dollars = 2/1000 of a dollar correct?
oh man blah math

Anyways back to phone companies

Tmobile told me I needed to get their Tmobile "hot spots plan" in order to use their WIFI on the SDA Phone.

I was like but its a wireless card no I don't...after explaining wireless technology to them for 20 minutes they admitted that I didn't need their stupid 30 dollar a month "hot spot" crap. Ahhh I love when technology vendors don't know technology

The more I think about it, the more it sounds staged. Who records calls? Unless both parties agree it is illegal. Verizon can record it, if they warn the customer, but the customer cannot record it.

It was Consumerist.com, a consumer watchdog blog I believe. Check it out, there's a lot of interesting stuff on there.
