But I would guess Clemens will be in Boston to finish his career, exactly where he began it." ... From the Globe's Gordon Edes
John Henry confirmed that the Sox are flying back to Boston with Daisuke Matsuzaka and agent Scott Boras on board. “You can assume that a deal is done or close."
So would that mean..
Schilling
Clemens
Matsuzaka
Beckett
Papelbon / Wakefield

That is insane....do you agree?
I heard the Yankees were gonna sign
Whitey Ford
Clemens
Nolan Ryan
and Pedro Martinez with a robot arm.
Thats pretty insane too
BTW you can't listen to Boston Media for rumors. They will tell you whatever they want to make the Red Sox look spectacular.

Dude... Watch your mouth. You might start a tiff between the Yanks and the BoSox, and after all these years of friendship, I'd hate to see that happen.

Just saying Clemens isn't on his way to Boston.
But yes the Sox rotation is pretty good now. Especially if the can stay healthy.
But Schilling is old, Beckett has blisters and was really bad, Wakfield is hurting always, Papelbon is coming off an injury and Matsuzaka has never thrown a pitch in the pros

Unless the Sox are willing to pony up a pro-rated $20 million for Clemens, I don't think it's going to happen. After all the money they're spending on Matsuzaka, who knows what bullets they have left? That $51.1 is paid tomorrow, not over six years.

Other than that, though, you do agree that the five of them will come in an unprecedented 5-way tie for the AL Cy Young, right?

oh yeah, and as a group they will win 150 games. Who needs a bullpen

Agreed. If the Sox sign Clemens, they'd definitely blow into luxury tax territory. Which I guess they figure they could justify since they would assume that signing him would give them a strong run at the World Series. But still seems odd.
In any case, the, "Will Clemens return to Boston?" was interesting in its first run. Now that it's on it's third(?) year, I'd rather see what was on the USA Network.
