I was wondering if anyone knew or could find a way to find how many players that sign 5+ year contracts actually end up with the same team at the end of those 5 years.

I don't remember reading any articles on this subject, but it sounds interesting. You would probably have to do the research yourself. You get lists of player contracts. You can then use Baseball-reference.com to look at the transactions of that player. It sounds like this research would take a lot of work.

Is that actually a real number? Because if so then all I'd have to find is the number of 5 year contracts total.

No, I was just having fun. But if you stick with six, it will save you a heck of a lot of work that thedude is recommending! Just tell everyone it's six and tell them to prove you wrong.
