True three outcome player?

Three True Outcomes (TTO) are those plate appearances that end without the defense getting a chance to touch the ball, plate appearances that end in a home run, a walk, or a strikeout.

TTO% = TTO/PA = (HR+BB+SO)/PA

Google is amazing.

It's not of any use for fantasy or baseball, guys. It was created as a joke to 'honor" players who only do those things that don't depend on fielders. "True" outcomes in the sense that they are totally determined by the interaction between pitcher and batter.

I think it applies to anyone that puts the ball in the field of play less then 50% of the time.

Mostly meaningless but fun stat. The players are often more useful then their BA inidicates due to OBP and power. Plus, they usually have less chances to hit into double plays.

Russel Branyan is a typical Three True Outcomes player. Adam Dunn is the current TTO star I think.
