I thought the same thing, but isn't a South African accent just one that sounds like a bad British accent? When Dave Matthews talks, if he can talk, it sounds like he's doing a lousy Monty Python impression (not that there are "good" Monty Python impressions!)

I'm no expert on this, but I've coached a few kids from different parts of Africa, and to me, they've always sounded like they had a mix of a British and French accents (the way the accents sound when speaking English, of course), only more exaggerated and difficult to understand.

Well many parts of Africa were colonized by both France and Great Britain at one point in their history, so that certainly makes sense. I believe South Africa was controlled by the Dutch and British however, which may account for their accents. In fact I think it was basically colonized by some Dutch trade corporation until the Brits seized control.

last movie I saw was Casino Royale, which was about Texas Hold'Em Casino Royale was good I would give it 8 out of 10. It was less cartoonish then some of the past Bond movies and he didn't have all the gadgets. Lots of hand-to-hand fighting. It had a good storyline that explains the Bond character. I saw this thinking it could no way be as bad as the last Bond movie Die another Day which was garbage.
I saw Blood Diamond last night and really liked it. DiCaprio did a solid job and looks like he will be competing with himself for acting awards from his role in this movie and the Departed, which I thought was the best film this year.

Casino Royale was good I would give it 8 out of 10. It was less cartoonish then some of the past Bond movies and he didn't have all the gadgets. Lots of hand-to-hand fighting.
